The 3 Keys
We can accomplish a successful real estate transaction by utilizing the “The Three Keys”.
Play a game with me. Actually, let’s play three games.
The prize for each game is a very special key: a key to a smooth real estate transaction. If we have all three keys, we can open the doors to a great real estate transaction. House or condo, sale or purchase, the three keys work beautifully. Every time.
Our First Game is Tug-O-War. You take one end of a long rope, and I’ll take the other, and we’ll each pull on our end of the rope. What happens? We won’t get anywhere, no one wins, and we exhaust ourselves and each other in the process. Fun, right? Not in my world. Might be fun for a game, for a little while, but when you’re selling or buying your house, Tug-O-War is no fun at all. And yet, people do it all the time in real estate. They wrangle over terms, or fixtures, or features, or furnishings. It doesn’t have to be that way. You and I aren’t going to. And we’re going to have a far better outcome than if we were to grab ahold of the rope and tug.
Our Second Game is Boost. Let’s take that long rope from our Tug-O-War game and tie it securely to a tree branch; we’ll let the other end of the rope dangle to the ground. Now you grab ahold of the rope, and pull. Go ahead; just pull yourself up right on to the top. Not so easy, right? You can get up a little ways, but eventually, your arms get tired and your hands start to slip, and sooner or later, you end up sliding right back down to where you started – on the ground. But, if I help you, and I give you a boost, climbing up gets a whole lot easier. And then, when you’re all the way up to the branch, you can help me. Boost is the name of the game when you’re selling or buying your house. Boost means that we help each other. I have some tips that’ll make your work pay off, with a better sale or a smoother purchase.
Our Third Game is Trust. This one looks easy, but it takes practice. You stand facing the tree from our game of Boost, while I stand a couple of feet behind you, ready to catch. You hold yourself straight like a plank, and allow yourself to fall back. And I’ll catch you. And then we’ll swap. I’ll face our old friend the tree, and you stand behind me, ready to catch. I’ll close my eyes, make like a plank, tilt back, and…ta dah! You’re right there to catch me. That’s Trust. We build trust together as a team, and the trust and our teamwork both get stronger, the longer we work together for our common purpose. Which is to get you the house of your dreams, or to sell it so it can be someone else’s dream house. Either way, with all three of our keys, we’re going to have a great time, and it will feel more like play than work. We make a pact.
No Tug-O-War over stuff.
We Boost each other the whole way through.
We build Trust.
That’s the name of the game when you’re selling or buying your house.
We help each other.
